Obituary of Ronald Holstein
Ronald Holstein, 82, of Edinburg, IL passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Ron was born on July 13, 1939 in Springfield, the son of Charles and Lela (Hambelton) Holstein.
He married Joyce Derringer on July 28, 1962.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in German from 1959-1962 in the 13th Cav.
Ron also enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister
Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Rhonda (Claude) Friesland, of Ramsey, IL, Renee (Mike) Dunkirk, of Hindsville, GA; one sister, Kitty Chance, of Taylorville; one brother, Gary Holstein; grandchildren, Derek (Jeanann) Thomas, of Edinburg, Anderson Friesland, of Ramsey, Nicole (Mitchell) Scott, of Clinton, Devin (Kara) Friesland, of Ramsey, Shelby Friesland, of Ramsey, Blake (Samantha) Friesland, of Ramsey, Jessica (David) Durbin, of Hindsville, GA, and Matthew Dunkirk, of Hindsville, GA; great-grandchildren, Dylan Thomas, of Edinburg, Camden Thomas, of Edinburg, Addilyn, Moriah, and Lincoln Friesland, of Ramsey, Lillian Friesland, of Ramsey, Gavin Friesland, Landon, Savannah and Jensen Scott, all of Clinton, and Lucas Durbin, of Hindsville, GA.
Cremation will be accorded by Wilson Park Funeral Home, 109 E. Washington St. in Edinburg and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
