Obituary of Jeffrey Allen Stone

Jeffrey Allen Stone, age 57 of Golconda, Illinois passed from death to life (John 5:24) after the most wonderful and loving care possible in the Hardin County General Hospital, Rosiclare, IL, on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Jeff was born on February 9, 1963, the only child of Donald Allen and Mary Rose (Butler) Stone in Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah, KY. Jeff was a graduate of the Pope County High School Class of 1981.
“New Day”, New Life began for Jeff on June 12, 1990. That is the day that Jeff met Toni Rose Kaylor. On December 21,1990 they were united in marriage at the Hardin County Courthouse, in Elizabethtown, Illinois.
In 1992 they owned a business (Kaylor’s Café), but Jeff received the calling from God and they sold the business and in August 1993 moved to Henderson, TN where Jeff attended Freed Hardeman University and received two degrees, (Bachelor of Science in Bible, Magna Cum Laude).
Then, in February 1997 they moved to Metropolis, Illinois and Jeff began his full time ministry, but continued to travel back and forth to Henderson, TN until receiving his Master of Arts degree in New Testament. During that time, Jeff completed six semesters of Greek and had won the Zonderman Greek Award.
In 2010, Jeff and Toni moved to his childhood home in Golconda, IL, where they loved spending ALL, their time together enjoying a quiet and serene life, reflecting God’s creation.
In Jeff and Toni’s sojourning, Jeff has spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout IL, TN, KY, MO, AK, NY, and Canada.
Ecc. 3:12-13: So I realize that the best thing for them is to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live. God wants all people to eat and drink and be happy in their work, which are gifts from God.
Ecc. 12:13: King Solomon’s Conclusion: Now, everything has been heard, so I give my final advice: Honor God and obey his commands, because this is all people must do.
Jeffrey Allen Stone fulfilled his purpose in life and whole-heartedly loved his work preaching and teaching God’s word.
Toni will continue their work, New Day Ministry of Southern Illinois, and also fulfill a dream of Jeff’s by publishing a book that he has written.

The private graveside committal service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in the Cave Hill Cemetery located just North of Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Rev. Carroll Collins presided. A meal was served after the service at the home of Billy Fred Bayne.
