The High School Lady Cougars Volleyball Team is new to the list of sports that Hardin County High School offers. Last year, several parents and junior high students expressed interest in starting a volleyball team to the school board. The School Board approved the new sport and assigned Mrs. Kizziah as the coach to the junior high team.
High School girls became interested in having a team, and it was approved by the board for this year, too. Mrs. Kizziah is now coaching the high school team this fall. Heather Sanders has been appointed to coach the junior high team in Spring 2020. Emily Settles is helping again this year with both high school and junior high.
Coach Kizziah played volleyball in both junior high and high school when she attended Equality Christian Center School. Coach Kizziah volunteered to coach because she really enjoys the game and she likes to see Hardin County students have new opportunities for extracurricular activities.
Last year the junior high team was unable to host home games because they lacked having the net and poles installed into the new gym floor. This year, that is all in place and the high school team has already hosted two home matches. The last home game will be held October 17 against Gallatin County. It will also be Senior Night.
Coach Kizziah invites every out to cheer the girls on. She said there has been a great crowd at both of the home matches and feels it boosts the morale for the team.
