Obituary of Craig Barnard

Craig Barnard, 56, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at S.I.H. Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Craig was born February 29, 1968 in Mendota, IL to Gary Barnard and Janet (Doggett) Smith.
Craig last worked as a Lift Truck Operator for Aisin Manufacturing in Marion, IL.
Craig is survived by his mother and step-father, Janet and Don Smith of Herrin; father, Gary Barnard of Rosiclare, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jerry Ratchford of Herrin; nieces, Isabella Ratchford and Alexa Ratchford; nephew, Gavin Ratchford; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Darrell Walker of Louisiana; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Doggett; maternal grandmother, Alma and Fred House; and paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lula Barnard.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Josh Wehrmeier officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be a private graveside at Peters Creek Cemetery in Peters Creek, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church in Herrin, 900 South 11th Street, Herrin, IL 62948. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
