Obituary of Buddy W. Eggert

Buddy Walter Eggert, 71 of Elgin, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He was born April 23, 1955, in Chicago IL to Walter and Dorothy (Vack) Eggert.
Buddy grew up in Rosiclare, Golconda, and Carpentersville, IL and graduated from Barrington High School (Class of ’74).
Buddy worked for Schiffmayer Plastics in Algonquin, IL for 36 years, as Plant Manager. After leaving the employment of the Schiffmayer Plastics, he worked as Foreman for 10 years for Engineering Molding Solutions, Inc. in McHenry, IL. He happily retired on August 6, 2021.
On June 4, 1977, Buddy married his high school sweetheart, Candi Lee Nelson. They were happily married just shy of 50 years.
Buddy’s primary passion was his family. He loved being outside with all the family’s kids in family get-togethers, four-wheeling around their home acreage, taking care of chickens and other animals over the years, Fourth of July fireworks in their big backyard.
Buddy loved muscle cars, car museums, car shows and always enjoyed getting a good deal through estate sales, garage sales, auctions, and antique sales.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Candi and his daughters, April (Daniel) Murphy and Amanda Eggert; his brother, Ronald (Luana) Eggert; sister, Cindy Tegtmeier; brother, Raymond (Sheila) Eggert; sisters, Donna Wyas and Eleanor Smith; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many dear friends and extended family members.
Buddy was preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Cook.
He will be missed by all.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Buddy on Saturday, May 16, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main Street, West Dundee. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Buddy’s life.
