Maurice Mason

Maurice Deneen Mason, 92, died on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, Indiana. Maurice was born on September 16, 1932, in Elizabethtown, Illinois, to the late Bruce and Ruby (Garland) Mason.
Maurice was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Maurice is survived by his son, Keith W. (Tammy) Mason of Eagle Creek; two daughters, Cynthia A. (Stephan) Ledbetter of Harrisburg, and Debbie K. (Kent) Wilson of Evansville, Indiana; four step-sons, Fred (Donna) Ping and Johnny (Kathy) Ping, both of Stonefort, Danny (Jonnie Beth) Ping of North Carolina, and Mark Ping of Eldorado; one stepdaughter, Faye (Dann) Ping of Florida; and a daughter-in-law, Tammy Mason of Cave-In-Rock; 31 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and spouses Freda Helen Willis and Dorothy Cheek Ping, he was preceded in death by a son, Tony D. Mason; a brother, Marvin Mason; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Mason; and a grandson, John Matthew Roe.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, with Rev. Fred Ping officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment followed in Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-In-Rock. Military honors were presented by the Paul C. Rowan American Legion Post #571.
