Obituary of Joetta “Susie” Douglas

Joetta “Susie” Douglas, age 76 of Rosiclare, IL passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at home.
She was born in Hardin County, IL to the late James Weldon and Donna Jo (Watson) Chancey.
Susie retired from Shawnee Telephone Company and later worked at the Family Counseling Center. Susie was a member of Community Independent Baptist Church of Rosiclare, IL.
She liked to joke and to be pranked.
Susie is survived by her son, Michael Blair; and grandson, Brandon Blair.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Chancey and James “Hornet” Chancey.
Visitation was from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL.
Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL.
Pastor Fred Birch conducted the service. Burial followed the service at Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL.

    I worked with Susie at Family Counseling Center. She was a sweetheart and I have a lot of good memories of her. Rest in Peace Susie.
