Obituary of Ludean Ann Atkinson Gholson

Ludean Ann Atkinson Gholson born August 7, 1952, to Wayne and Ludean Atkinson in Rosiclare, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. By her side was her daughter, granddaughter, granddaughter-in-law, and niece. Ludean was one of eight children.
On September 1, 1989, she married Ted Gholson up until his passing in 2019.
Ludean loved her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandbabies. Ludean was a momma to two precious fur babies, Max and Kacey. Ludean loved to cook, and bake.
During Ludean’s time here on Earth she worked at Steel City Marine as a cook on the boat.
Ludean is survived by Robert (Rhonda) Winters, son; Debbie Ann (Dale Schnake) Winters, daughter; Katlyn (Erica) Sandefur, and Charles Winters, grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters, Tynslee Ann and Ava Renea. Ludean was also survived by three brothers, Johnny, Larry, Gary Atkinson; one sister, Debra Mone; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ludean Atkinson; husband, Ted Gholson; three brothers, Leonard, Robert, Marion “Keith” Atkinson; nephew, Michael “Monke” Atkinson; and her precious fur baby, Micah.
There will be no services for Ludean. Per her wishes she was cremated. There will be a family service at a later time.
