Obituary of Marie O’Neal

Marie O’Neal, age 85, of Ridgway, Illinois passed away on November, 15, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on September 11, 1938 to Al and Essie (Pilkinton) Millikan in Lambtown, Hardin County, Illinois.
Marie married William A. O’Neal on January of 1957, he preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgway, IL.
Marie loved to scrapbook, and visit with her friends. She was a sports fan especially the Gallatin County Hawks.
Marie loved her grandchildren whether it was buying clothes or just spending time together. She was retired but had worked at several grocery stores, lastly as a clerk at the Food Park.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Barbara and Rick Hunt of Ridgway; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Jaclyn) Hunt, Jared (Ashley) Hunt, Jesse O’Neal; six great-grandchildren, Claire Hunt, Caroline Hunt, Cora Hunt, Carson Hunt, Avery Hunt, Harper Hunt; and one sister, Wilma Hoimer, of Cave-In-Rock, IL.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Frank O’Neal and William Jeffrey O’Neal; six brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, IL. Scott Luckett conducted the service. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023 and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Nick Hunt, Jared Hunt, Jesse O’Neal, Michael Dunk, Stephen Dunk, and Chris Dunk.
