Back to School Bash at the school today until 5 p.m.

The Back to School Bash is being held today (8/11) at Hardin County Schools from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Teachers and staff were all smiles today. There was an upbeat in the air all hoping for a fresh start to a new school year. Parents and students lined up outside the doors before opening, since free school supplies and free haircuts are available on a first come, first served basis. Haircuts will be given until closing at 5 p.m.

At the event, kids and parents can talk with teachers and administrators and bus services personnel, parents can get help with the registration, and visit booths where there are giveaways and information about businesses and organizations that serve the community.

From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Hidden in Plain Sight, will have a presentation about risky behaviors teens might be participating in.

As you leave, be sure and check out the brand new playground! That may be an incentive for some kids to look forward to the new year.

Alisha Foster, one of the organizers of the event, said that the community really stepped up to support the students of Hardin County.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, school physicals could not be given today.
