Obituary of Larry “Moon” Street
Larry “Moon” Street, age 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:28 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Moon was born in Equality, Illinois on October 31, 1941 to Francis and Gertrude (Hargrave) Street. He married Judy Hale on November 10, 1962, and she survives. Moon worked as a truck driver for fifty-nine years and retired in 2020 from Tison and Hall Concrete Products. He was voted by Midwest Truckers Association as Truck Driver of the Year on February 7, 2015. Moon drove for fifty years without a single accident or ticket. He recently gave his life to the Lord.
Moon was a former member of the Eldorado Sportsman’s Club and a member of the Teamsters Local 50. He hunted everything possible and enjoyed fishing. Moon was a Cardinal baseball fan, but truly loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Moon is survived by his wife, Judy of Harrisburg; son, Ron Street of Raleigh; son, Jeff Street and wife, Patty of Harrisburg; son, Shawn Street of Harrisburg; ten grandchildren, Ron, Jr., Christopher, Dakota, Dillon, Trevor, Erin, Jackie, Heather, Brennan and Skylar; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Maryetta Porter of Eldorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Moon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Hargrave; brother, Bill Street; and brother-in-law, Gene Porter.
Funeral services for Larry “Moon” Street. were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Harold Miller and Rev. Deon Dutton officiated and burial was in Colbert Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
