Obituary of Wanda Hope Reed

Wanda Hope (Minkey) Reed, 94, of Lake Worth, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Wanda was born February 10, 1927 in Cave-in-Rock, IL, to the late Orville and Estelle Patton.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Reed; sister, Faye Edmondson; and brother, James Gathel Patton.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Melba Patton of Cave-in-Rock, IL; daughters MaryEllen Fawk of Chicago Heights, IL and Donna (Ron) Anderson of Lake Worth, FL; plus her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Cave-in-Rock High School in 1944 and went on to receive a RN degree in nursing.
Wanda retired from the State of Illinois after 25 years of service at Dixon State Hospital.
After moving to Florida, Wanda continued her life’s work in health care and followed her passion for genealogy.
She was a gifted piano player, entertaining all her family and friends.
We will miss you Winnie.
A private graveside memorial will be held at a future date.

    Wanda meant so much to me as a family member, genealogy researcher and friend. I cannot show how much my heart broke when I read this obit. I loved this lady over the years and will miss her dearly. May the angels in Heaven and God the father open their arms in greeting her.
