Obituary of Randall Ray Barnard

Randall Ray Barnard, 95, of Eldorado, died Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Cave-In-Rock, IL on August 12, 1923 to the late Gentry and Myra (Milligan) Barnard. He retired as an end loader operator at the Rigsby and Barnard Rock Quarry. He was a member of the IUOE Local #318 and a member of the Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church. On January 18, 1946 he married the former Rose Marie Kaylor and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2019.
Ray is survived by his sons, Terry (Debie) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock, IL, and Randy (Judith) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock, IL; daughters Gail (Doug) Thompson of Raleigh, IL, Diann (James) Grace of Eldorado, IL, Linda Rigsby of Ft. Myers, FL, Teresa (Bill) Hanley of Eldorado, IL, and Cynthia (Danny) Matlock of Springville, AL; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Laura (Bill) Switzer; brother, Bill (Norma) Barnard; and sister-in-law, June Kaylor.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Barnard; three brothers, Rad Barnard, Winfred Barnard, Jesse Barnard; and three sisters, Verdna Austin, Irene Kaegi and Opal Frailey.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Danny Matlock, Doug Thompson, and Pastor Mike Fields (Wabash Christian Retirement Center) officiating with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
