Obituary of Georgia Kay Martin
In loving memory of my best friend and amazing wife.
By Husband, Danny Joe Martin
Georgia Kay Martin, 50 years old, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Georgia was born to Ray and the late Patty Etzkorn of Grayville, IL on January 19, 1969 in Mt. Carmel, IL. She graduated in 1987 at Grayville High School.
Georgia and myself, Danny Joe Martin, were married October 11, 1991 in Cave In Rock, IL. She enjoyed working as a CNA and being a housewife and mother. She had a talent with children and the elderly, which was remarkable to anyone around her.
Georgia and I had four children. Our two daughters were Amanda G. (Martin) Warren of Golconda, IL and Ashley K. (Marshall) Larkin of Grayville, IL. Our two sons were Quentin Martin of Elizabethtown, IL and Jeremy L. Martin of Grayville, IL. We have 16 grandchildren together, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Georgia always enjoyed her time with each and every one of them.
Georgia truly lived a full life and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She took pleasure in helping anyone that was in need. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, and she brought joy to everyone’s life that she was in.
Georgia is survived by myself, her devoted husband, Danny Joe Martin; two brothers, Rick Etckorn and Steven John Etckorn, both of Grayville, IL; and one sister Misty (Etckorn) Pearson, also of Grayville, IL.
All family and friends were greatly touched by her smile and loving personality. My sweet wife, you are and will be missed by each and every one of us. Rest in peace with our great and almighty Lord, ‘til we meet again. I love you.
Your Honey Joe.
