Shawnee Communications assists Cougar basketball.
On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, Andy Henderson, Marketing Manager for Shawnee Communications, presented Hardin County Athletic Director, Sharon Austin with a donation to provide financial assistance to the Hardin County High School Athletic Department. The $3,000 donation goes toward covering the cost of basketball shoes worn by the high school boys and girls basketball teams.
Mrs. Austin expressed her gratitude by saying, “The students and their families are very excited to receive this donation. This really helps out a lot of families in our community.”
“Shawnee Communications truly enjoys helping our rural student athletes compete on the same level as their opponents,” said Mr. Henderson. “Our customers are largely responsible for making this donation possible. We’re fortunate that our Hardin County customers have put us in a position where we can give back to the community.”
Shawnee Communications began making an annual donation to help cover the cost of basketball shoes worn by the Hardin County High School boys and girls teams in 2006. Duplicate donations were also made to Gallatin and Pope County High Schools.
