Obituary of Mora Patterson

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, Mora Patterson of Elizabethtown, IL. Mora was 89 years old.
He leaves behind to mourn his children, Linda (Mitch) Ross of Vienna, IL, Shelia (Stan) Brandt of Golconda, IL, Cheryl (Fred) Turner of Madeira, Portugal, J.C. (Vicki) Patterson of Marion IL, and Mary (David) Rash of Elizabethtown IL; sister, Nora English of Rosiclare, IL; he was blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. He had a special bond with his youngest great-grandson Luke Brandt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva (Myers) Patterson; son, Mark Patterson; parents, Webb and Laura (Dale) Patterson; brothers, Randall Patterson, Webb Patterson Jr., and a sister, Linda Taylor.
Mora was a member of Community Independent Baptist Church of Rosiclare, IL. Mora was saved and baptized in August of 2022 by his Pastor Fred Birch.
Mora enjoyed fishing and gardening, working outdoors in his yard, and sitting outside watching the birds. He was dearly loved by his children.
Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. The service will be conducted by Pastor Fred Birch. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL.
