Verna R. Spivey, 96, of Rosiclare, IL died Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Hardin County General Hospital. She attended First Christian Church of Rosiclare, IL.
Survivors include her children, Larry Warren of Rosiclare, IL, Garry (Rita) Warren of Elizabethtown, IL, Ricky (Anna) Warren of Metropolis, IL, Sharon (Mike) Robinson of Elizabethtown, IL, Kevin Warren of Rosiclare, IL, Debbie (Bill) Wallace of Rosiclare, IL and Joyce (Scott) Boone of Henderson, KY; brothers, Raymond Vernon English of Clifton,IL and Everett Victor English of Golconda, IL; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; several great-great- grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dora Kay Warren and son-in-law, David Cowsert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Essie English; husband, James Spivey; children, Rusty Warren, Ronnie Warren and Regina Cowsert; brother, Vinson English and sisters, Verla Hicks and Faye Daniels.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday October 1, 2023 at Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Shelby Cemetery in Pope County, IL. The family will receive visitors from noon Sunday until service time at the funeral home.

Mom was the sweetest, most beautiful person. I miss her so much already! I miss our daily phone conversations, and I will especially miss taking her to the nail and hair salons. Afterwords we would go to lunch. She loved fajitas and fried chicken! Then, we’d go Walmart where she sometimes entertained everyone by driving the motorized scooter! Then, of course we’d go to Dairy Queen to end the day with a milkshake.
I am extremely blessed to have had such a wonderful Mom!
