Obituary of Charles T. Jackson

Charles Troy Jackson, 85, of Carterville, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Parkway Manor in Marion, IL.
Charles worked as an electrician for Ozark Mahoney Mine, Ajax Engineering and Hardin County School System.
Charles was member of the First Christian Church in Cave-In-Rock, IL.
He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. He often “coached” both sports from his recliner.
Charles was born October 17, 1937 in Elizabethtown, IL to William Troy and Rowena (Crowell) Jackson.
Charles married Linda Larsson on January 29, 1983 in Springfield, MO. She survives him in Carterville, IL.
He is also survived by his daughter, Brenda Owens of Harrisburg, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Janet Jackson of West Frankfort, IL; step daughter, Pam Ward and her husband Brian of McLeansboro, IL; step son, John Jerrels of Festus, MO; grandchildren, Jacob Ward, Lauren Ward, Travis Owens, and Megan Jackson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Judy Jackson of Rosiclare, IL, and Larry and Janet Jackson of Carrier Mills, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Virginia Wheeler and Donna Kay Woolsey.
Graveside services begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL.
