Obituary of Marvin Dale Rash

 

Marvin Dale Rash, 74, of Eldorado, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born in Cave In Rock, Illinois on April 26, 1948 to the late Charles and Francis Hogeland Rash. Marvin married the former Janice Willis on August 16, 1968 who survives him in Eldorado, Illinois.
Marvin was a member of the Star General Baptist Church. He worked for Peabody Coal and then retired from the American Coal Company. He also was the owner of Mr. M’s Lock and Key for thirty nine years.
Marvin loved to bowl with the Thursday Mixed League. He also loved deer hunting and fishing.
He worked with the Eldorado Town and Country serving as President for thirty one years.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Corey (Andrea) Rash of Clay, Kentucky; brothers, Randall (Carole) Rash of Eldorado, Illinois and David (Mary) Rash of Rosiclare, Illinois; three grandchildren, Isabella Rash, Austin Rash, Benjamin Rash; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and step mother, Ruby Rash.
Funeral services for Marvin were held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Star General Baptist Church in Eldorado, Illinois. Rev. Aaron Phelps and his son, Rev. Corey Rash, officiated his service. Burial followed in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation was held at Star General Baptist Church on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m and before the funeral service from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

    To the family, I’m So sorry for your loss. Marvin was a good man that I had the pleasure of working with at the American coal company and enjoyed a great friendship with in the Eldorado community. He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace my Miner Brother. Jake
