Obituary of Sharon Kay Reed

Sharon Kay Reed, age 74, of Elizabethtown, IL passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born in Rosiclare, IL to Otis and Maxine (Vinyard) McBee on September 2, 1948. Sharon was married to John Reed for 39 years; he preceded her in death in 2007.
Sharon worked at an insurance company in Springfield, IL after graduating from high school. Upon returning home she babysat until she began working at the Golden Circle for 30 years. She was currently employed at the City of Rosiclare and a member of the Fluorspar Festival Committee. Sharon enjoyed antiquing, rummage sales, bingo, fishing, and camping.
Sharon is survived by, two children, Jeremy (Gina) Reed of Cave-In-Rock, IL, Heather Jenkins of Elizabethtown, IL; four stepchildren, Amanda (David) Ohse, Eric Reed both of Golconda, IL, Nicholas Shockley, Nathan Shockley both of Carterville, IL; seven grandchildren, Jaclyn (Luke) Morgan, Josi Reed (Brady M.), Dalton Ohse, Jaci (Joel) Limestall, Kenadie Reed McClenahan, Rylee (Mathew) Nelson, Jerri Jenkins; four great-grandchildren, Reed Morgan, Ellee Limestall, Ethan James McClenahan, Erin Walton; and special friend, Jackie Shockley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Dean McBee.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, Illinois. Pastor Stan Pennell will conduct the service. Burial will follow at the Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown, Illinois. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.

    She was a good lady, she got things done help renting out the room next to craft mall. If you had trouble Sharon was the go to lady. She was top notch. Such huge loss for this beautiful lady.
