William “Bud” W. Stokes

William “Bud” W. Stokes Jr., age 67, of Kankakee died Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home. He was born February 9, 1953 in Anna, the son of William W. Sr. & Margaret (Freeland) Stokes.
William is survived by his wife, Marita Stokes of Kankakee; daughters and two sons-in-law, Melissa (Kevin) Kruse of Kankakee, Shannon Stokes of Kankakee, and Megan (Joe) Doris of Bourbonnais; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon (Kyrah) Stokes; grandchildren, Emmalyn Kruse, Jackson Kruse, Charlotte Kruse, Maxwell Stokes, and Alexandra Rieder; sisters and three brothers-in-law, Penny Conn, Candy (Bob) Davis, and Janis (Richard) Reed, all of Elizabethtown, and Warrena (Larry) Barnerd of KY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Zenny Kammann of OR; sisters-in-law, Carol Woolard of CA and Pam Kammann of Kankakee; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
William is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Donald Conn and James Kammann; and stepfather, Kenneth Styck.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cave In Rock. Rev. Arthur Austin will officiate the service. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

    So very sorry to hear. I went to school with Bud in Rosiclare. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this sad time. May God bless and comfort you.

    I so enjoyed working with Bud. He was a excellent nurse who was compassionate and insisted upon excellent care for those under his care. We often spoke of his family who he was very proud of.
