Roy Edward Volkert

Roy Edward Volkert, 65, of Raleigh,died on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Roy was born on December 25, 1954 in Rosiclare, Illinois to Charles William and Doris Gertrude (Turner) Volkert. In 1974 he married Cheryl Evetts and she survives.
Roy is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Raleigh; three children, daughter, Sherry Price and husband, Michael of Rogersville, Tennessee; son, Anthony Volkert and wife, Jennifer of New Burnside; Brent Volkert and wife, Ashley of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Haley and Shelly Volkert of New Burnside; Tyler and Luke Volkert of Harrisburg; sister Christine Hobbs of Elizabethtown; brother, Tony Volkert and wife, Carrie of Minnesota; sister, Marie Hale of Norris City; sister, Debbie Clay and husband, Chris of Raleigh; brother, Dewayne “Glenn” Volkert of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, Illinois. Pastor Harold Miller officiated and burial followed in Cowsert Cemetery near Rosiclare. Memorials may be made to Cowsert Cemetery.
