Mary Elizabeth “Sally” Barnes

Mary Elizabeth “Sally” Barnes, 77, resident of Elizabethtown died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her residence.
Sally was born July 2, 1943 in Elizabethtown to the late Lawrence and Edith (Burklow) Lane.
She was a member of the Honey Comb Church of God where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Barnes; daughter, Sheila Brown of Elizabethtown; brothers, James Lane of Harrisburg, J.C. Lane of Elizabethtown, and Donnie Lane of Elizabethtown; sister, Susie Moore (Steve) of Rosiclare; four grandchildren, Jacqueline “Jackie” Brown of Godfrey, Krista Brown of Bethalto, David Brown of East Alton, and Kayla (Ryan) Lindley of Bethalto; great-grandson, Brody Lindley of Bethalto; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,; brother, Bill Lane; and three sisters, Wilma “Pud” McBride, Wanda McNear and Anna Mae “Shorty” Carter.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Rogers Cemetery, 31 Sparks Hill Road, Elizabethtown, IL with Bro. Harold Miller officiating. There will be no visitation. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions masks and social distancing will be required.
