Obituary of Glenn D. Samford

Glenn D. Samford, 71, of Cadiz, KY and formerly of Hopkinsville, KY died at 4:43 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with his son in law Damon D. Hall officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Marion, IL he was born June 25, 1949 the son of the late Joe David Samford and Jo Alice Lester Samford. He was a master plumber and the owner and operator of Superior Plumbing for 39 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and a former deacon at Edgewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Paula Griffith Samford; his daughter, Rae Samford (Damon) Hall of Paducah, KY; Dax (Michelle) Samford of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister, Reatta Samford Barnfield of Benton, IL; and three grandchildren, Dixie L. Hall, Micah Samford, and Maci Monroe Samford.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Screaming Eagle Foundation, Vanderbilt – Ingram Cancer Center, or Pennyroyal Hospice.
