10/14/20 – S7HD COVID-19 Update for the Southern Seven Region

 

Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) reports 5 new recovered cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region.  Currently, there are 974 individuals from the Southern Seven region who have recovered since the start of the pandemic in the United States.

 

Southern Seven confirms 27 new cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region.  All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are being isolated.  The newly confirmed cases by county, gender and age are as follows:

 

• Alexander County: One female 30’s
• Hardin County: One female 40’s
• Johnson County: One male 20’s, one female 30’s, one male 40’s, two females 50’s, one male 60’s
• Massac County: One female 50’s
• Pulaski County: One male under 10, one female 20’s, two females 40’s
• Union County: One female under 5, one male under 10, two females 20’s, two males 20’s, two females 30’s, two males 30’s, one female 40’s, one male 40’s, one female 50’s, one male 50’s

 

Southern Seven Health Department will report on the number of confirmed positive cases as more cases appear.  Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 1489 cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region since the start of the pandemic in the United States.  There are currently 486 active cases in the region.

 

Southern Seven reports 26 deaths in the Southern Seven region since the start of the pandemic.

 

The number of individuals confirmed, to date, within the Southern Seven Counties are as follows:

Southern Seven Health Department will not release specific information about individuals with COVID-19 beyond their county of residence, gender and age range, unless ordered by the court.

 

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in Illinois there were 2,861 new individuals with COVID-19 identified on October 14 bringing the confirmed total in the State to 327,605 individuals, with 9,074 deaths.

 

All data are provisional and subject to change.  In order to rapidly report COVID-19 information to the public, data are being reported in real-time.  Information is constantly being entered into an electronic system and the number of cases and deaths can change as additional information is gathered.

 

There has been an increase in COVID-19 cases being spread by community transmission at social events and gatherings.  This virus can be spread up to 48 hours before a person has symptoms.  Anyone who has been at gatherings where little to no safety measures were in place is at risk of contracting COVID-19 and are asked to WATCH FOR THESE SYMPTOMS: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.  If you begin to show symptoms, isolate immediately and contact your healthcare provider about getting tested for COVID-19.  Information impacting Phase 4 of Restore Illinois, including numbers of new cases, hospitalizations, and ICU bed availability can be found at http://www.dph.illinois.gov/countymetrics and at http://www.dph.illinois.gov/regionmetrics.
