Josephine Myrick Billington, age 81, of Golconda, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
She was born September 27, 1938 to Barney Glenn and Martha Myrick in Livingston County, KY.
Josephine graduated from Rosiclare High School in 1956.
She was united in marriage to H. Normus “Redbuck” Billington on August 18, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death.
Josephine worked for the ASCS doing mapping at the Pope County office and while living in Arizona worked at Motorola.
She had two great loves in her life, the black 1957 Chevrolet she purchased brand new and her husband, Normus.
She enjoyed gardening, caring for her cats, and tending to her many flower beds.
She leaves behind, a sister, Janet Conger of Phoenix, AZ; two nieces, Stephanie Smith and husband, Tony of Waxhaw, NC and Jennifer Robinson and husband, Loren of Queen Creek, AZ; two great-nephews, Benjamin and Ethan Smith of Waxhaw, NC; children of her brother, Daniel Greer, Faye Bell and husband, Gordon, all of Ione, CA; an aunt, Judy Myrick, Phoenix, AZ; special friends, and care givers, Darrell and Sandy Cowsert of Golconda; and the two little ones to whom she was “Granny Josie,” Kay Moss and Carson Hall; and a host of cousins.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, H. Normus “Redbuck” Billington; her parents, Barney and Martha Myrick; a brother-in-law, Norman Conger; and a half-brother, Jimmy Greer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM , Friday, July 17, 2020, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM.
