Joseph L. Clanton

Joseph L. Clanton, 86, of Elizabethtown, IL died Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carrier Mills, IL. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, member of Independent Baptist Church and the the Hardin County American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Clanton; brothers, Danny Clanton of Edwardsville, IL and David (Brenda) Clanton of Elizabethtown, IL; and sister, Martha (Bill) Williams of Elizabethtown, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Gladys Clanton; son, Joseph “Bubby” Clanton; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday June 27, 2020 at Rock Creek Church in Cave-In-Rock, IL with interment in Rutherford Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from noon until service time at the church.
The Paul C. Rowan American Legion Post #571 will provide military rites at the cemetery Saturday.
