Hardin County High School Cougars are GEC Consolation Champs

The Greater Egyptian Conference (GEC) games were held at Southeastern Illinois College, hosted by Pope County High School this year last week.
The Cougars versed the Hawks on January 28 in the first round of GEC games. They lost that night, but played in the another round on January 30 against Thompsonville. There, they won with a score of 68 – 43. They won again at the consolation round on Saturday, February 1 against Carrier Mills with a score of 71 – 53.
The team is coached by Rodney Lane with assistance from Jason Vaughn.
Their next home game will be held on Friday, February 14. Senior Night will be held at half-time of the JV game. They will also have their American Heart Association “Red Out” game on Tuesday, February 18. Go Cougars!
