Obituary of Imogene Piland

Minnie Imogene Piland, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Carbondale, Illinois. Imogene was born in Karbers Ridge, Illinois, the daughter of Ray and Christal Drumm. She graduated from Cave In Rock High School.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bob Piland; son, John Piland (Carol); daughter, Polly Mains (Rick); grandchildren, J.D.Piland (Betsy), Amy McKendree (Matt), and Cole Piland; great-grandchildren, Aly Piland, Raelynn and Brody McKendree, and Reiley Jean Piland. She is also survived by her sisters Pauline Banks of Harrisburg, Illinois, and Maxine Douglas of Melissa, Texas.
Imogene‘s life centered around her family and her faith. She was a member of The Ridge Church, formerly Walnut Street Baptist Church, where she started attending in 1955. She worked at Sears in Carbondale and Marion for twenty years.
Services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at The Ridge Church in Carbondale, Illinois, with Wes Henson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at The Ridge Church. Interment will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare.

    Bill I am so sorry for your loss. I loss my wife last April. We were married for 65 years. I know what you are going through–just take one day at a time.

    Bob I am sorry for your loss. those you love can never be more than a thought away–for as long as there’s a memory, she will live in your heart to stay.
