THURSDAY ACTIVITY
The 54th annual Miss Fluorspar pageant competition will be held Thursday, October 3 at the Hardin County K-12 School at 6 p.m. Please take note that this time is one hour earlier than usual. Seven young ladies will be competing for Miss Fluorspar. Not only will the 2019 Miss Fluorspar receive a crown, but she will also be awarded a $500 scholarship. The Fluorspar Princesses (elementary ages) will truly entertain the crowd and all will receive crowns.
FRIDAY ACTIVITIES
On Friday, October 4, the American Fluorite Museum will not be open for admission due to damage from a fire earlier this year, but they are having a Flea Market Fund Raiser at the Museum’s location Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Fluorspar Miners’ Memorial is always open to the public for viewing on Main Street. Stop by and enjoy the views.
Hardin County Hospital/Clinic COLOR RUN/WALK 5K – Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. at city park; race begins 6 p.m. $15 to enter. Different powdered colors will be sprayed on runners throughout the race.
PET PARADE begins at 5:30 p.m. in parking lot across from the Library. All animals are welcome to participate! Please secure your animals.
BICYCLE/GOLF CART/UTILITY VEHICLE PARADE – Registration begins at 6 p.m. at Bob’s Food Market. Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. from Bob’s and travel down Main Street to Banterra Bank for Judging at 7:00 p.m..

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES
Saturday, October 5, barbecue sales will begin at 8 a.m. at the Grandstand/Masonic Lodge, Various vendors, will open early on Main Street, Rosiclare and go on throughout the day.
FREE FLUORSPAR DIG – Let your kids dig and find their own fluorspar specimens in the pile dumped across from the Flower Basket on Main Street. Bring digging tools and containers!
25th ANNUAL CAR/TRUCK/MOTORCYCLE SHOW – River front park – registration 8 a.m. to noon. Music by Big Elvis! Judging at Noon. Trophies awarded at 2:30 or after the parade.
Fluorspar MINERS’ MEMORIAL – Stop by the Ohio River Scenic Byway table near the Dollar General Store to learn more of the Fluorspar Miners’ Memorial. Visit the Memorial on Main Street at 11:00 a.m. where past fluorspar miner, Harold Miller, will give and interpretive presentation about fluorspar.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS INFLATABLES – Fun for all ages – even adults. There will be a variety of inflatables that will provide FREE fun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Williams Field (ballpark).
NOEL E. HURFORD MEMORIAL Amateur PHOTO CONTEST – Results of the judging of this year’s photo contest will be announced at the Rose Clare Craft Mall on Main Street at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Stop by and view all of the spectacular photographs submitted by amateur photographers.
ROSICLARE MEMORIAL LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Buy quilt raffle tickets to help support the library. Winner announced following parade at the grandstand.
Pre-parade entertainment will begin at 10:30 a.m. at downtown Rosiclare at the Masonic Lodge: 10:30 a.m. Mike and Tena Burton; 10:50 a.m. Robert adn Michael Turner; 11:10 a.m. Justice Crowe; 11:30 a.m. Connie Crider; 11:50 a.m. Stephan Barnard; 12:10 p.m. David Burton; 12:30 p.m. Roy Jackson; 12:50 p.m. Robin Johnston; and 1:20 p.m. Rhonda Belford.
FLUORSPAR PARADE
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. Registration will take place on Main Street near Shetler Automotive beginning early on Saturday morning. Contact Bill Wallace for sign ups. Rhonda Belford will be the Master of Ceremony along with the Adriana Armstrong from Grace, Camo, and Lace television show.
Sign ups for Fluorspar Festival parade – To sign up for the Fluorspar Parade to be held on Saturday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m., contact Bill Wallace. Parade entrants may also show up the day of the parade and sign up at Shetler Automotive parking lot on Main Street before parade time. Please neatly write or type a paragraph that will be read by the parade emcee that will announce/describe your entry in the parade.
2019 GRAND MARSHAL – Jimmy Joe Humm – See his “Meet Your Neighbor” article in the 2019 Fluorspar Diamond.
BAND – Music by White Lightning featuring Super Cruson will perform in the Banterra Bank parking lot from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair! Black Diamond RV Superstore is sponsoring this event.
FIREWORKS – The festival will conclude with a grand fireworks display on the river front at dusk.
