Obituary of James A. Edwards

James A. Edwards, long time resident of Westland, Michigan, died June 1, 2019. He was born near Cave-in-Rock on October, 28, 1926 to William T. and Mazie Edwards. He was the beloved husband of the late Juanita (Hale) Edwards.
He was also predeceased by his brothers, Gilbert and Billie. He was the loving father of Kim (Michael) Chalifour, papaw of his grandson Joseph and dear uncle of several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Cave-in-Rock High School in 1945 and immediately entered the US Army and proudly served his country during WW II.
He was a dedicated employee of Great Lakes Steel for over 52 years.
He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. A memorial service for him was held on July 13th in Michigan.

    He was 1 of the most genuine human beings I ever knew.. Kind, thoughtful & very sharing of great advice!
    Always quiet & a great listener when you needed to vent. Roger sought him out often in old days. He will be missed!
    He is with his loved ones now!!

    I was married to Jim’s brother Billie,didn’t see Jim to often,but thought he was such a kind soft spoken man.Was easy to talk to and showed real concern with his family and friends.I know those three brothers are enjoying each other once again!!!
