Loren F. Volkert

Loren F. Volkert, Sr., 95, died Thursday, February 28, 2019. He was born on March 15, 1924 in rural Elizabethtown, Illinois to Anton and Daisy Volkert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Lawanda Hurford.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lawanda; son Loren F. Volkert, Jr. (Claudine); granddaughter, Julia (Robin); two grandchildren, Doug Volkert (Marlena) and Alex Tuttle; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, February 28, 2019, 2 p.m., at Roselawn Funeral Home. Placement followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation was held Wednesday evening, February 27, 2019, from 5-7- p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
