Newly formed Hardin County Jr. High Lady Cougars Volleyball Team shows good progress halfway through first-ever season

The Junior High Lady Cougars Volleyball Team is new to the list of sports that Hardin County School offers. Several parents and students who expressed interest in starting a volleyball team met with the school board to discuss the possibility. Hardin County High School English teacher Rachel Kizziah put in a letter of interest hoping to coach if it were to be approved.
The School Board approved the new sport and assigned Mrs. Kizziah as the coach. Those girls interested began open gym in October 2018. Initially, about 30 junior high girls were interested, but only 16 were picked for the team at tryouts in January.
Coach Rachel Kizziah played volleyball in both junior high and high school when she attended Equality Christian Center School. Mrs. Kizziah volunteered to coach because she really enjoys the game and she likes to see Hardin County students have new opportunities for extracurricular activities.
