Obituary of Barbara Kay “Barb” Burton

Barbara Kay “Barb” Burton, 73 of Carbondale, passed at 3:54 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Barbara was born on April 18, 1945 in Golconda, IL to the late Charles and Lois (Shelby) Julian. On June 10, 1962, she was married to Edward “Eddie” Burton. Barb and Eddie were married for 52 years until his death on April 17, 2015. Barb was a homemaker, proud mother, and loving grandmother.
Surviving family members include : her daughter, Cindy (Eric) Sussman of Mooresville, IN; son Jonathan (Suzanne) Burton of Murphysboro, IL; three grandchildren, Natalie Burton of Pittsburgh, PA, Morgan and Madison Sussman of Mooresville, IN; and sister, Shirley (John) Gibbs of Herrin, IL.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation began at 10 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Funeral services started at noon. Burial followed at Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-in-Rock.
